Madame Julia LaJolla is the first customer encountered on McGinty's collection rounds in The Great McGinty. According to The Boss, she runs "a kind of fortune-telling outfit," as further signified by the presence of a crystal ball. Madame LaJolla upbraids McGinty, with the aid of crockery, for trying to bleed money from a poor old woman. When McGinty calmly explains the purpose of protection, the palm reader is persuaded and pays up.
It's implied that Julia's business involves more than second sight, however; she flirtatiously offers to take McGinty "upstairs to have your fortune told." When McGinty refuses, since it's strictly business for him, she returns with "well, you know where it is."
